Columbia’s city council has given the green light to Logboat Brewery’s expansion plans.

The council voted Monday evening to approve multiple rezoning requests from Logboat for its facility on Fay. Logboat wants to expand its production facility and its tasting room.
City staff says Logboat has sufficient surrounding utility infrastructure to support the proposed expansion.
Meantime, more than 2,000 Columbia-area residents have signed a petition asking the city to appoint a committee to develop a conservation overlay to protect natural features around Rock Bridge Memorial State Park, if and when they’re annexed into the city.
Jan Weaver testified before Columbia’s city council last (Monday) night, describing the park as an important natural, recreational, educational and economic asset to Columbia. Supporters of the proposal say the park deserves the special protection.
