Low number of new virus cases, high COVID-19 death count Tuesday

Another 26 Missourians die from COVID-19. The number reported Tuesday yesterday is the highest for any single day except last Friday, which included data missed earlier in the month.

The number of new coronavirus cases statewide was low though, 132. The state is now reporting 314 deaths from COVID-19, and 7,303 cases of the virus.

Gov. Parson said Tuesday most patients have recovered, and hospitalizations are way down statewide. He said the state is still on track for phase one of his re-opening plan on May 4.

Boone County added one new case Tuesday. That’s now 93 total, with 89 released from isolation. Cole and Callaway counties did not have new positives yesterday. Most patients have recovered. There were no new positives in Moniteau County either.

Local virus hotspot Saline County added six more cases, 177 total.

  1. I do not trust the information coming out of this state republican government or the state health dept. I am not saying they are dishonest, I just feel they are way..way behind (maybe be design) . 4/28 cases – 7,436 deaths – 336.
