Luetkemeyer sees little progress on more federal stimulus

If there is another round of stimulus checks from the federal government because of the coronavirus pandemic, it could still be a while off.

Mid-Missouri Republican Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer says he does not think a deal is coming any time soon.

“At this moment, the Senate is trying to get together with the House, and the House is trying to get together with [Speaker Nancy] Pelosi and there doesn’t seem to be unanimity on anything right now.”

Lawmakers are not due back in Washington until after Labor Day. Even if Congress passes another round of checks next week, they wouldn’t go in the mail until late September at the earliest.
