LUPD: Expect more security at next Homecoming concert

You can bet that security will be heavier at Lincoln University’s Homecoming concert next year.

University Police Chief Gary Hill says it’s unfortunate some bad actors had to ruin the show for everyone else this year.

“People just took advantage of us,” Hill says. “The line went from a complete straight line to people crowding over each other and jumping over the barricades and moving them out of the way to help their friends get in the line.”

University Police and other agencies arrested several people after fights broke out in the line at last Saturday night’s concert. Some people were taken to the hospital after being pepper-sprayed. The crowd damaged the doors to Jason Gym.
