Man arrested after Jefferson City police chase

Jefferson City police arrest a man who crashed his car after a chase.

Officers say Charles Davis Jr., 36, refused to pull over at around 4 p.m. Wednesday. Police started to chase Davis, then stopped following him around Monroe Street. They later found his car crashed into a retaining wall on West Ashley Street.

Witnesses say Davis crawled out of the car and limped from the scene. Officers found a stolen gun near his car.

Davis already had warrants out for felony drug charges. He’s now in jail facing new charges of resisting arrest, receiving stolen property and illegal gun possession.
