Man charged with murder after Moberly drug overdose death

Police in Moberly have arrested a man connected to a drug overdose death.

Officers said Thursday that prosecutors charged Kyle Hummel of Huntsville with second degree murder and distribution of a controlled substance. Hummel is in jail on a $100,000 bond.

Investigators say a Moberly resident died of a drug overdose on Sunday, and that Hummel allegedly supplied the drugs. The victim’s name has not been released.
