Columbia police are investigating an accidental shooting after a man died on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers said Tavious Grant, 22, was shot in an apartment in the 1000 block of Claudell Lane and was taken to University Hospital. He was later pronounced dead during emergency surgery.
The investigation is ongoing, but at this time detectives do not believe the death was intentional.
However, officers are asking people with any information about the shooting to contact them at (573) 874-7652.
