A man is dead after a north Columbia house fire.
Crews saw smoke when they got to the house on Monsoon Lane near North Providence and Rain Forest Parkway at about 2 p.m. Saturday. They found a man, 68-year-old Hoyt Hayes dead inside the house.
The fire was contained to the kitchen. No word on what caused it yet. Foul play is not suspected.
