A house fire in west Columbia leaves a man dead.
Authorities say crews got to the fire on Ruby Lane near Ash Street at around 10:40 a.m. Monday. They found George Grant, 66, dead inside the house. A second person was also inside at the time, and escaped with minor injuries.
Investigators say they are still trying to figure out the cause of the fire, but they do not suspect foul play.
