UPDATE: Columbia police arrested Donald Hammers on multiple felony counts as a result of an alleged physical domestic incident with a firearm.
Police said Hammers left a residence, got into his car and started firing his gun out of the vehicle’s window.
A resident of the house also returned fire.
When Hammers resisted arrest the K-9 was deployed. He was arrested near Rangeline St. and Brown School Rd. early Saturday morning.
Hammers is currently facing charges for domestic assault, unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, endangering the welfare of a child, armed criminal action and felony resisting arrest.
ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia police are investigating a shooting in the 5400 block of Baseline Place.
ABC 17 reports police responded to the area shortly after 11 p.m.
While investigating, officers pulled over a vehicle on Rangeline Street that was believed to be involved in the shooting.
During the encounter, a police K-9 bit the driver of the car.
The man was taken into custody and taken to a hospital.
Officers said it was not clear who fired the weapon in the shooting, however, no one was injured.
