(AP) — A 26-year-old Jefferson City man has been sentenced to life in prison for the shooting death of another man on New Year’s Day in 2017.
Jeffery Millens was sentenced Wednesday for second-degree murder in the death of 23-year-old Quonterio Davis. Prosecutors said the two men had children with the same woman. They were all at a New Year’s party when the shooting occurred.
Millens was also sentenced to 10 years for armed criminal action and 10 years for unlawful possession of a firearm. Those sentences will be served consecutive to the life sentence.
