The new Champs Chicken restaurant being built at Columbia’s Highway 63 and Stadium is expected to open in March.
Moser’s Foods has placed a new sign in front of its Keene store announcing the opening date. Champs Chicken is currently hiring employees for the new Highway 63 and Stadium location, and they encourage applicants to apply. Coil Construction and several other companies are building the new Champs Chicken in the former Zaxby’s restaurant, which closed after being open for about nine years. Online reviews show many customers were unhappy in the final year or so with the service at that Zaxby’s location.
Moser’s Foods sold to Holts Summit-based PFSbrands in November 2023. PFSbrands produces the Champs Chicken sold at Moser’s. The grocery chain was founded in 1982.
