Columbia’s city manager has scheduled Thursday May 30 as the date he’ll deliver his state of the city address.

City manager De’Carlon Seewood will deliver his annual address at noon that day at city hall, and the public is invited. He’s expected to address accomplishments during the past year, as well as challenges and potential challenges that the city is facing.

Mr. Seewood is pleased with the $533-million budget approved by the council last fall. That budget included pay raises for Columbia’s approximately 1,500 city employees that are six percent above market and across-the-board increases of two percent for eligible permanent employees. Pay raises for city employees have been a top priority for Mr. Seewood.
