Columbia officials say residential curbside trash will not be collected on Memorial Day and will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week. Go COMO, which is Columbia’s public transit system, will not operate today, and parking enforcement has been suspended for Memorial Day. Columbia Parks and Recreation says the city’s ARC will operate at reduced hours on Memorial Day from 9 am to 3 pm, and the Albert-Oakland family aquatic center will be open from noon to 5 pm.

Memorial Day is one of Missouri’s 13 official state holidays. Most of Jefferson City’s 14,000 state employees are off today, but some state employees are working. Every available Missouri state trooper is on the highways or water today, and corrections officers are working in the prisons as well.
