While mid-Missouri will be dry on Thursday and most of tonight, Columbia and the entire listening area could see heavy rain and possible thunderstorms overnight.

National Weather Service (NWS) St. Louis meteorologist John Carney tells 939 the Eagle that he expects rain and the storms to arrive in Columbia/Jefferson City at around midnight. While he believes the storms should be weakening when they arrive in mid-Missouri, Carney says 60 to 70 mile per hour winds and a brief tornado are possible.
