A key mid-Missouri state lawmaker says Governor Mike Kehoe (R) didn’t make decisions lightly about line-item vetoes.

State Rep. Tim Taylor (R-Speed), who chairs the House Special Interim Committee on Property Tax Reform, is referring to $53-million in line-item vetoes.
Chairman Taylor also serves on the House Budget Committee and tells 939 the Eagle that he’s listened to testimony about many of the programs affected by vetoes. Taylor says he doesn’t envy the governor in times like this. Taylor represents Cooper, Howard, Chariton and Randolph counties in Jefferson City.
Governor Kehoe has signed a $49.8 billion state budget into law.
