The Missouri State Board of Mediation has verified election results showing that employees at the Daniel Boone Regional Library have voted to unionize.
Our news partner ABC-17 reports the vote was 101-55, and that the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees will represent the library workers.
Library officials have responded to worker comments about pay, saying that a new compensation system was implemented in 2022 and that the average increase for library staff was ten percent, while it was six percent for managers.
The library also says employees have received across-the-board salary increases since 2018.
