Jefferson City Police have arrested a wanted Minnesota suspect, after the man allegedly threatened to assault them so they’d use lethal force against him.
JCPD officers say 53-year-old Derek Burgin has a no bond warrant in Ramsey County, Minnesota for sex crimes, and told Jefferson City officers that he planned to die on Saturday.
Burgin allegedly had been threatening to detonate an explosive device on a home’s porch. ATF agents and the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s bomb squad also responded to the scene, in the 900 block of Jackson Street.
