Missouri announces details on industrial hemp applications

Missouri Dept. of Agriculture officials are putting out more info on growing hemp in Missouri starting in 2020.

Spokesperson Sami Jo Freeman says there are registration details online now.

“The Missouri law required that each producer goes through a federal FBI background check,” Freeman says to Missourinet. “There are many locations we’ll put on that information on the website too. But, that’s really one important thing that we want to make sure people to plan for.”

Hemp producers will also need to fill out a written application and create a parcel map. The state starts accepting applications on Jan. 2. We’ve got a link to more info here.
