A Missouri astronaut’s departure from the International Space Station is on hold.
NASA said on Friday morning that Crew-1’s return is delayed because of forecast weather conditions in the splashdown zones off the coast of Florida on Saturday.
Mike Hopkins is part of the NASA SpaceX crew that left our planet last November. He was born in Lebanon, Mo., and grew up on a farm outside Richland. He graduated from Osage High School.
Another Missourian was on the first SpaceX flight earlier in 2020, St. Louis-area native Bob Behnken. Behnken’s wife, Megan McArthur, is part of the crew now taking command of the International Space Station.
