A Missouri astronaut safely splashes down on this side of the stratosphere.
Mike Hopkins and the rest of SpaceX Crew-1 landed in the Gulf of Mexico near Florida early Sunday morning.
Hopkins has worked at the International Space Station since last November. He and his team broke the American crewed spacecraft mission duration record.
Hopkins was born in Lebanon, Mo., and grew up on a farm outside Richland. He graduated from Osage High School.
