Missouri close to 5,000 confirmed coronavirus cases; Parson to address stay-at-home order

Missouri reported more than 200 new cases and 14 more deaths from COVID-19 Wednesday.

The statewide count of coronavirus cases is at 4,895, with 147 total deaths.

Boone County counted three more positives Wednesday, for a total of 86. 74 have recovered. Cole County added two cases of the virus Wednesday. That’s now 40 total, with 31 recoveries. Callaway County is still at 19 confirmed cases, with 15 recovered. One person has died due to COVID-19 in each of those counties. Moniteau County saw the biggest local jump in confirmed positives, from six to 15 on Wednesday.

During his daily COVID-19 briefing Wednesday, Governor Parson said he will address the status of the statewide stay-at-home order during his briefing Thursday at 3 p.m. He said he will “also be looking at a plan to re-open Missouri.” The statewide stay-at-home order currently runs through next Friday.
