The Trump Administration plans to boost the ethanol that oil refineries must add to their fuel starting next year.
Bradley Schad with Missouri Corn Growers says it helps to cancel out Trump’s waivers to big oil companies that reduce ethanol demand.
“The damage had already been done but this corrects that. We hope to move forward – we’re going to do our due diligence and make sure all this comes out in the right way,” Schad says to Missourinet.
The Environmental Protection Agency says the rules would ensure that more than 15 billion gallons of ethanol be blended into the fuel supply.
“We are very pleased that what has been done to make sure that 15 Billion gallons is out there. But, we really, really appreciate the president doing right for farmers and the ethanol industry with this announcement,” Schad says.
