Missouri counts over 3,000 COVID-19 cases; Howard County confirms first case

Statewide confirmed cases of COVID-19 have surpassed 3,000.

Tuesday’s reported number of positives in Missouri is at 3,037, about 300 higher than Monday. A reported 14 more deaths brings the total to 53 in the state.

Boone County has confirmed 71 cases, with 50 recoveries and one death. Cole County is at 32 positives, with 15 recovered and one death. Callaway County reported its first death Monday. It has 18 confirmed cases and 11 recovered. Howard County confirmed its first case of the virus Tuesday.

At his daily press briefing, Governor Mike Parson announced a rule change Tuesday making it easier for first responders to receive workers compensation if they contract COVID-19 on the job.
