It will probably be a while before we know how many Missouri delegates Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders get at the Democratic party convention.
Most of Missouri’s delegates are awarded at the congressional district level. Missouri Democrats asked the secretary of state for special ballots in counties that are part of multiple districts, like in the 2016 primary.
Republican Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft says on Wake Up Columbia the ballots were already printed before Democrats made their request in February.
“It wasn’t that we refused to do it, or we said we’re not going to do it because we’re mean or something. It was because it was too late for us to do that.”
Missouri Democrats already decide on their own how to assign their delegates.
