The Missouri House has given initial approval to a new congressional district map.
House members voted 84-60 Tuesday in favor of a map that will keep Missouri’s projected representation of six Republicans and two Democrats in the U.S. House. Some GOP members proposed a few maps that would’ve flipped one of the Democratic districts to Republican. One of those proposals would’ve split Boone County into three separate districts.
The new map still needs a final vote by the House.
