Legislation requiring career and technical education programs to offer courses leading to insurance certification will be voted on Wednesday by a Missouri House committee in Jefferson City.
State Rep. Michael Johnson (D-Kansas City) is an insurance agent. The Missouri Insurance Coalition and the Missouri Association of Insurance Agents back Johnson’s bill.
The bill would require the Missouri career and technical education programs to offer courses leading to insurance licensing and certification by 2024. The three-page bill is House Bill 1719.
