Missouri’s House Speaker says it’s hard to tell if there are problems with the state’s medical marijuana program.
There have been some complaints about the scoring system, and how the state awards licenses.
Speaker Elijah Haahr tells Missourinet the state’s medical marijuana director will testify again before a House committee on Wednesday.
“I believe there’s an internal appeals process. I also know that several have filed suit out of it. And, frankly, we’re just at the beginning of this. We wanted the opportunity to sort of see how this program worked, and get those questions answered, and we’ll continue to do that,” Haahr says.
Missouri voters legalized medical marijuana in 2018. Sales are set to start in a couple months.
