Missouri surpasses 7,000 coronavirus cases

Missouri has confirmed 7,171 cases of the coronavirus. The state reported 174 more positives on Monday.

State officials say 14 more people have died from COVID-19. That makes 288 total.

Boone County had no new positives over the weekend, staying at 92 total with 86 recovered. Cole County added a few new positives, and now has 50 cases. 41 have recovered. Callaway holds at 20 positives and 15 recovered. One death has been reported in each of those counties.

The state is doing mass testing at meat-packing plants this week in Moniteau and Saline counties, Missourinet reports. Several workers have tested positive for the coronavirus. Moniteau County is up to 41 cases as of Monday morning. Many of them are at Burgers Smokehouse, which stopped production the next few days. Saline County is up to 167 positives. Most patients have not recovered yet in either county.
