U.S. Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-Missouri) toured Faurot Field in Columbia late last week and met with football coach Eliah Drinkwitz. Senator Schmitt also met with Mizzou athletic director Laird Veatch.

The Cotton Bowl champion Tigers finished 11-2 last year, finishing the season ranked eighth in the nation. Senator Schmitt tells 939 the Eagle that his visit with Mr. Veatch and Coach Drinkwitz went great.

“Everyone is excited and rightfully so- Mizzou is stacked, to put it bluntly. Depth and experience will be their strong suit this year, they’re absolutely loaded at wide receiver, and everyone’s looking at Brady Cook to have a monster year. This will be an exciting team, right in time for the expanded playoff. MIZ!” he says.

Mizzou football opens its 2024 season next Thursday night against Murray State at Faurot Field in Columbia. Kickoff is set for 7.
