Two people from Missouri are among those who will decide if President Trump’s latest Supreme Court nominee will be approved.
Trump announced Monday night that Judge Brett Kavanaugh is his choice to replace the retiring Anthony Kennedy.
Missouri Republican Senator Roy Blunt said in a statement “Judge Kavanaugh is a highly qualified nominee with an outstanding legal background. I look forward to learning more about his judicial record and talking with him about his judicial philosophy as the confirmation process moves forward.”
“I look forward to thoroughly examining Judge Kavanaugh’s record in the coming weeks as the Senate considers his nomination to replace Justice Kennedy,” Missouri Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill said.
McCaskill voted against Trump Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch in 2017. Blunt voted in favor.
