Missouri’s Supreme Court is hearing arguments Tuesday on the state’s battle over Medicaid expansion.
The hearing comes after an appeal from three women suing the state for not expanding the government health care program. A Cole County judge ruled last month that a voter-approved constitutional amendment to allow for expansion was unconstitutional, saying that the state can’t be forced to expand the program without funding for it.
Lawmakers did not include funding for expanded Medicaid in the most recent budget.
