Missouri’s attorney general says opioid settlement will bring much-needed resources to state

Missouri’s attorney general will be in St. Louis this (Friday) morning to announce the final opioid settlement involving several major companies.

Attorney General Eric Schmitt (R) will brief reporters at 11 am in St. Louis. He says the settlement his office obtained will bring much-needed resources for opioid abatement and treatment.

Schmitt’s office announced last July the beginning of the settlement process with Johnson and Johnson and opioid distributors Cardinal Health, McKesson and AmerisourceBergen.

Missouri lawmakers in both parties and in both rural and urban areas have talked about the devastating impact of the opioid epidemic across the state.
