Missouri’s delayed municipal election to be held Tuesday

It is finally municipal election day in Missouri.

Votes for offices like school boards and city councils have been on hold since April because of coronavirus concerns.

Columbia Public Schools has a $20 million bond issue on Tuesday’s ballot. Four candidates (Chris Horn, David Seamon, Jonathan Sessions, and Helen Wade) Fulton is looking at a $27.5 million bond.

Central Columbia voters are choosing one of three candidates (Mark Anderson, Pat Fowler, or Greg Pierson) to replace Clyde Ruffin as First Ward city councilman. Ruffin is not seeking re-election.

Ashland voters are picking either Dorise Slinker or Richard Sullivan as the new mayor, with Gene Rhorer not seeking re-election.

The polls are open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
