
About 1,000 Special Olympics athletes and their families are in Columbia this weekend for the Special Olympics Missouri state summer games.
The three-day event starts today (Friday) and runs through Sunday, the first full weekend since 2018 due to the 2019 Jefferson City tornado and then the COVID pandemic.
Governor Mike Parson is scheduled to speak at tonight’s 7 o’clock opening ceremony at Mizzou’s Carnahan Quad.
