Mizzou officials are encouraging you to practice tornado safety during this morning’s statewide tornado drill.

Tornado sirens throughout the Show-Me State will sound at 11 am. Mizzou officials will be testing all  components of its emergency notification system, and that test will coincide with the activation of Boone County’s outdoor warning siren system.

MUPD notes the spring season brings a variety of potential severe weather hazards, including tornadoes, straight-line winds, hail and lightning. This morning’s 11 o’clock statewide tornado drill will replace Boone County’s regular scheduled monthly test of the outdoor warning siren system.
