Missouri’s governor has appointed Ginger Gooch to the state Supreme Court, cementing the first-ever female majority on the state’s highest court.

The 47-year-old Gooch will fill the vacancy of Judge Patricia Breckenridge, who’s retired. Governor Parson appointed Gooch to the Southern District Court of Appeals in 2022. Before serving on the appellate bench, Ms. Gooch served as a partner with Husch Blackwell in Springfield for 15 years.

Governor Parson says Judge Gooch has known the value of hard work her entire life. The governor describes Judge Gooch as a loving mother, dedicated wife and a proud woman of faith.

It’s Governor Parson’s second state Supreme Court selection in less than two months. He appointed Judge Kelly Broniec to the Missouri Supreme Court in mid-September.

Judge Gooch, who graduated from Columbia’s Stephens College and earned her law degree from Mizzou, will be sworn-in during the next 30 days.
