Mizzou CAFNR employee killed in Columbia; CPD says victim was shot

Detectives are investigating the homicide of a Mizzou employee at a home on Marble Cedars Drive in west Columbia. CPD investigators say 52-year-old James Hundle was found shot to death on Wednesday, after they responded to the house for a well-being check.

ABC-17 News reports Mr. Hundle served as the assistant to the vice chancellor and dean of Mizzou’s College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources. The college’s dean tweeted Thursday, saying the Mizzou family has lost a beloved friend and colleague.

Columbia Police say there were factors that suggested a suspicious death, but they did not elaborate.

No arrests have been made, and detectives encourage anyone with information to call Crimestoppers at (573) 875-TIPS.

The home is in the 4800 block of Marble Cedars Drive, near Scott Boulevard and near Longview Park.
