The University of Missouri College of Education celebrates a $1 million gift.
It comes from MU alumnus Gary Coles and Patricia Coles. The school said on Thursday the cash will help establish scholarships for MU students planning to become elementary school teachers.
Patricia Coles was a longtime teacher and administrator for Columbia Public Schools. Gary Coles was a senior research scientist at DuPont, who returned to Mizzou to teach classes in the MBA program.
