Total enrollment is down, but the trend is looking better for Mizzou.
MU says it’s freshman class for the start of the semester was up 13.1 percent to 4,696 students compared to the fall of 2017 (4,152).
The number of transfer students is up nearly five percent, with more than 1,000. The overall retention rate is also the highest it’s ever been, at 87.3 percent.
But the total enrollment is down 3.7 percent, from 30,567 in the fall of 2017 to 29,443 in the fall of 2018. The last two freshman classes were way down from the fall of 2015’s record.
