Mizzou health institute less than a year from scheduled opening

We are less than a year away from a big-money project’s scheduled opening on the Mizzou campus.

Dr. Rick Barohn, vice chancellor for health affairs at MU, says the NextGen Precision Health Institute is the most ambitious research project in the history of the university.

“We’re going to do amazing things in this new building. There’s nothing that’s going to be like it in the country,” Barohn said on the Tiger Radio Network.

The institute will host researchers from several different disciplines who can treat patients in the same building. It is a $220 million project, slated to open in October 2021.

“It’s sort of a one-stop discovery center for precision health where we try to find the right treatment for the right patient at the right time.
