It’s a top-15 clash Wednesday night in Knoxville as Rick Barnes’ #4 Tennessee Volunteers welcome #15 Mizzou to Thompson-Boling arena.
The Volunteers are 18-4, with all four losses coming to conference foes. Four Volunteers average double figures in scoring, led by standout Chaz Lanier. He’s averaging about 18 points a game. Tennessee has the nation’s third-leading defense, giving up just 58.6 points a game.
Dennis Gates’ Missouri Tigers are red-hot, winning six of their last seven. The 17-4 Tigers whipped #14 Mississippi State by 27 points on Saturday. Mizzou’s Caleb Grill has also been hot, averaging 21 points in his last three games against ranked opponents.
