The University of Missouri plans to demolish a building that has been on campus for 127 years.
The school said Thursday that Pickard Hall on Francis Quadrangle has to come down because crews cannot clean up radioactive contamination in the former chemistry building.
The demolition will cost about $12 million dollars, and take roughly two years. The building has been closed since 2013.
