Columbia’s first diversity, equity and inclusion administrator says commitment to a cause greater than one’s self is one of the most dignified forms of generosity that can ever be expressed.

D’Andre Thompson served as the keynote speaker for last week’s MLK awards ceremony at Columbia College. Mr. Thompson earned his master’s degree from Columbia College and also worked there at one time as an enrollment specialist.

Mr. Thompson tells the audience that he was able to take the passion ignited during his time at Columbia College and cultivate that passion into a career that he says helps local government strategize equitable practices that will improve the overall quality of life for all citizens.
