Mo. Rep. says he’s safe at state Capitol

In light of the recent shooting of congressmen in Virginia, how do state representatives feel about safety in the public eye?

“I think it’s the type of thing that you can’t control, and you can’t spend your life worrying about things that are outside your control,” said Cole County Representative Jay Barnes.

Barnes says safety is definitely not a concern inside the Capitol building.  Governor Eric Grietens said originally he wanted metal detectors reinstalled at the Capitol.
