Missouri Task Force 1 spent a lot of time Thursday making sure buildings were safe in Panama City, Florida. They continued with that type of mission on Friday.
Sixteen Boone County-based emergency responders are deployed in the area affected by Hurricane Michael this week. They mostly specialize in water rescues.
The task force was planning on getting a new assignment Friday.
Linemen from Boone Electric Cooperative and the city of Columbia are working to restore power in Tallahassee.
