Moberly officers dragged by car during arrest

Two Moberly police officers are dragged backwards by a driver facing criminal charges.

Investigators say the officers pulled the driver over on S. Morley St. for a stop sign violation on Saturday night. They learned he had allegedly violated a restraining order earlier in the day. Officers opened the driver’s side door, and he put it in reverse, dragging them backwards about ten feet and briefly trapping him. Then the suspect took off, but was arrested after a short chase.

Both officers have minor injuries. We don’t know the suspect’s name yet. He is a 46-year-old man.
