MoDot notes improved communication as winter approaches

MoDot has already gone through a statewide winter weather drill, on Nov. 7.

Engineer Jason Shafer says that means getting staffers ready to drive a dump truck.

“Give them all the training they need to make sure that everything is as smooth as possible because if you’re driving, say, a Honda Civic every day of the year and you’re in a dump truck you just need a little practice to get back in the swing of things again,” Shafer tells Missourinet.

Shafer says MoDot has improved its communication and road reporting after we got more snow than expected last winter.
