Columbia, Ashland and Hartsburg-area residents commuting to Jefferson City should give themselves extra time today (Thursday) and for the next two weeks, as MoDOT has closed the southbound 63 exit ramp to Highway 54.
The bridge over Oilwell road closed Wednesday after the morning commute.
MoDOT spokesman Adam Pulley is encouraging you to use caution through that area. He tells 939 the Eagle that while the agency hasn’t had any issues, you should give crews plenty of room.
MoDOT is now redirecting motorists to eastbound Highway 54, where you’ll turn around on Summit drive in Holts Summit and drive back to Jefferson City. The ramp project is part of MoDOT’s $15-million plan to provide a smoother driving surface for motorists between Columbia and Jefferson City.
