Columbia-area residents are expected to pack New Haven elementary school for this (Thursday) afternoon’s open house for proposed upgrades at heavily-traveled Highway 63 and Grindstone Parkway.

The state Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is proposing a $9-million project which includes the addition of a loop ramp and expanding traffic capacity on the interchange’s east side.

Employees who work on Lemone Industrial complain that it’s very difficult to make a left or a right turn onto Grindstone, throughout the day. MoDOT wants to improve the northbound Highway 63 entrance and exit ramps, and they plan major improvements on Grindstone Parkway, New Haven and Lenoir.

Today’s open house is from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at New Haven elementary: you can come and go at any time to see maps and visit with MoDOT employees.
